A day off should be spent relaxing and recuperating, instead of ticking things off a never-ending to-do list.
When my sister and I recently headed out to a gym together on a day pass, I realised just what a good idea this was. It was a cheap way of filling up the majority of the day with a trip that felt productive and fun but in a relaxing environment. The combination of new surroundings, an invigorating exercise class, a bubbling jacuzzi, pool, sauna and steam room, and a nice cafe to indulge at was perfect.
So if you’re looking for a day out that is a little something different to a shopping trip or your usual walk into town, why not try purchasing a day pass at one of these lush local spa gyms?
Here Are My Recommendations Of The Cheapest Spa Days In North Yorkshire

On A Budget
My sister and I recently went to the Bannatyne Gym in York, near Clifton Moor. It cost us £15 each for a day-pass and gave us access to all of the facilities.
While my sister made the most of the huge gym, I enjoyed an hour and a half Ashtanga Yoga class. By the time I had completed the yoga class I had pretty much already made my money back.
We relaxed in the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, passing on the pool as we ran out of time with me having to get home for work. So that just proves there is more than enough to do to fill your day with.
I even enjoyed a Starbucks coffee while I began setting up my Europe travel plans in the welcoming cafe in the entrance to the building.

Enjoy the beautiful facilities that David Lloyd’s has to offer. I’d definitely recommend making a full day out of this one, since you’re paying a lot to get in in the first place.
Use the gym, try out a class, swim in the pool and relax in the jacuzzi before enjoying a drink and some lunch on the sunny terrace (if we manage to get any sun this summer). Maybe if you’ve just had

The Best ‘Value For Your Money’
The Imagine Spa at The Dower House Hotel in Knaresborough is perfect if you want to enjoy full spa facilities on a budget. They are always advertising special offers on their Facebook page (and competitions) so follow them on Facebook to keep up to date on offers.
They have a gym and a pool, jacuzzi and other amenities to enjoy. Plus a bright, open and airy cafe and a spa where you can purchase further treatments if you would like.
At the moment, they have a ‘Spa and Dine Deal For Two’. For £55 each, you can enjoy up to 3-hours use of the facilities, get your robe/towel/slippers combo, enjoy a 30-minute treatment and indulge in a 2-course lunch at Storm Restaurant within the hotel. A pretty sweet deal, if you ask me!

The Best ‘All In One’ Deal
There’s a reason I’ve been to Aldwark Manor so many times over the years. It’s because Q Hotels do so many amazing offers at their locations.
If you’re planning on doing a day out with ‘the full hog’; pool access, gym, lunch and spa treatments, then I’d definitely recommend heading to Aldwark Manor near York. For just £75 you can enjoy access to all of the spa and health club facilities, along with a 60-minute treatment and afternoon tea with a glass of bubbly.
But the real value comes if you want to include an overnight stay
I have been many times over the years and I always have a lovely time at Aldwark Manor. The facilities are great, in a beautiful tranquil setting and the deals are great.
Those are my simple recommendations for you if you live locally to Harrogate and Knaresborough, and want something on a budget. I could tell you about all of the massive luxurious
