Most of the time life is bloody wonderful. And sometimes it’s not.
You can complain and say that your life sucks because it isn’t going the way you want it to be, but at the end of the day, every morning that you wake up happy and content is a blessing. You are never promised tomorrow.
I always tell myself that: ‘tomorrow is never promised so do what you want to do today’. But it’s never hit home quite as much as it has this past week.
I won’t fill you in on the details but our family found out that we lost a key member of it a week ago. It was completely out of the blue; they weren’t ill, they weren’t depressed, they just went to bed and didn’t wake up. It’s incredibly hard for all of us and especially for their parents and children.
It’s Mothers Day and this year it will be a very sorrowful one for our family. It will be a day of mourning for the mother who should be here to be thanked for everything that she has done for her children over the years.
So today and every day, I want you to live for TODAY. Don’t wait till tomorrow to text that friend and tell them you miss them, don’t go to bed on an argument, don’t say horrible things about people, don’t say you’ll wait until you’re older to plan that dream holiday. Do it now.
Call your parents and tell them you love them tonight.
Kiss your partner extra hard and cuddle up with them when you go to sleep.
Take your dog out for a walk, give them their favourite treat and let them curl up on your lap.
If you want to eat a whole tub of Ben & Jerry’s, freaking eat it!
Spend time with your mum this Mother’s Day and thank her for everything she has done for you.
Tomorrow is never promised. So live for today and be thankful for it.
